Qualcomm sues Meizu in China more than alleged 3G/4G patent infringement

Qualcomm, the planet’s largest chipmaker and the owner of multiple essential 3G and 4-G telecommunications patents, has filed a complaint in Beijing against Meizu. Essentially, Qualcomm says that Meizu is illegally using the US-based chipmaker’s intellectual property.

Qualcomm is currently in the process of protecting its patented technology in China, the particular world’s largest smartphone market. Last year, the Chinese authorities slapped Qualcomm with the a record fine of almost $1 billion over antitrust accusations.
